Of the four Foundational Accelerators that can boost your self-improvement journey, sleep is arguably the one that provides the most fundamental benefit. Not only does sleep provide a strong foundation for any self-Improvement journey, sleep also provides an important foundation for the other 'Foundational Accelerators' of Mental Health, Movement & Exercise and Hydration & Nutrition. While adjusting your bedtime and sleep routine is of primary value, whether that be the hour before bed or the hour after waking up, there are some changes you can make to ensure your environment is providing the very best opportunity for better sleep. Areas to consider are the basic comfort and temperature control from your mattress and/or bedding. Neck support from the type of pillow you have. Sound and air quality are also important so you may want to consider how you control a consistent level of noise in your bedroom with a white noise device, or improving the air quality through dedicated air quality control in your bedroom. There are other areas to consider, like crystals, aromatics, but the areas with the most gain, and often overlooked the most, are your bedding, pillow, mattress, light control, noise management and air quality.
